Dear Shooter:

Attached is the match report for the BORCC July 09 IDPA Match. Relation from Florida staying at my home precluded working on the match results until Thursday. There were 31 registered shooters with 8 demented competitors running the stages a second time for a grant total of 39 shooters.

The top shooter in CD and overall lowest match time goes to Dan Gipe from Richland, MI. Breathing down his neck was BORCC’s own Mike Gorbitz leading the pack in SS. Rick Martin was top dog (if not the big dog) in ES shooting a wimpy 9mm. Randy Cieslolka clubbed over the head everyone in SR taking both first and second place. Good shooting Randy. Gerry Donovan and I were shooting identical revolvers; very old Ruger Security Six .357 Mags. He was using underpowered 38 Spec while I was using mid range .357 loads. Please to notice there is not much difference between the three times.

Stage 4 with the shopping cart was excellent. Very creative, fun, and a serious challenge to most of the shooters. The 4.73 match time turned in by Bill Blawinski was impressive. His raw time was 3.73 dropping only two points. Remind me not to get Bill upset at me, especially if he is only two yards away.

There were a lot of new faces at this match. We hope the new shooters to BORCC enjoyed the match and will make the first Sunday of the Month a regular visit to our range.

The ICORE Match (all revolvers) is on the weekend of July 18-19. All ranges will be closed commencing Friday July 17th for match set up until after the match is completed.

Our next IDPA match will be on Sunday August 3rd. It is the annual BUG match. For those new to IDPA BUG is Back-Up-Gun. All stages at the BUG match will be five shot neutral. The entire match is designed to be shot with a J Frame, 5 Shot, 2” revolver. Semi auto BUG guns will be limited to five rounds loaded maximum. You may shoot the match with any firearm. The normal divisions of SS, CD, ES, SR, & ER will still be available with normal magazine capacity. The BUG guns will have their own separate divisions for competition. Most of us have a J Frame lying around the house, but we never take them to the range. Here is a chance to shoot the mouse gun. If it has been setting unattended for a long time, check the barrel for mud dobbers before pulling the trigger on live ammo.

If your name was spelled wrong on the match report, I deciphered your handwriting the best I could. We all know the solution to this problem. Have a safe July. Hope to see all of your at the August match.

Richard
