3 Gun

Dear BORCC Tactical Shooters:

As I am sure many of you are aware, Mr. Chris Berni has chosen to resign as the Tactical Shooting Event Coordinator. The Bend of the River Conservation Club Board of Directors and I are sure many of you also, greatly appreciates the time and effort that Mr. Berni spent working to establish and facilitate this program at our Club during this past season. The Board of Directors feels that this program is an excellent fit with our club’s goals and mission and we hope to see the program further formalized and events offered during the 2012 season. We will be soliciting two volunteers to serve as Co-coordinators for this program for the 2012 season at the October 20, 2011 General meeting. If you have an interest in serving as a co-coordinator I invite you to contact either myself or Mr. Bruce Cook, Board of Directors Tactical Shooting Liaison, directly and we will be glad to assist you. Mr. Bruce Cook may be contacted at bruce@bdbbq.com. The Board of Directors looks forward to seeing the Tactical Shooting Program grow at our club and working with many of you during that journey. Sincerely,

Brian Leonard, BORCC Interim President

Safety:

All N.R.A and B.O.R.C.C. safety procedures will be followed with the addition of the following:

2) Finger off trigger until on target and ready to engage.

3) When finished, the RO will give the command to “unload and show clear” rifle/handgun/shotgun. Any unsafe practices in unloading can result in dismissal from the match. 1 warning …Ro’s discretion…strictly enforced!

4) Sweeping of shooter or RO is cause for DQ for the match. RO’s discretion.

5) Rifle/Shotgun/Handgun muzzles will not contact the ground. In the event this occurs, shooter can be dismissed from the match. RO’s discretion.

6) Any behavior the RO deems inappropriate can be cause for dismissal from the match.

7) Long guns must be carried actions locked open, magazines out. In the event actions will not lock open, some type of chamber flag will be used.

8) Handguns will be holstered, magazines out, hammers/strikers down.

9) Safety is everyone’s responsibility!

Along with the above range commands will be the following:

1) STOP! Command given when the need to stop engagement is necessary (can be given by anyone).

2) FINGER! Command given when shooter has his trigger finger in an unsafe placement/position.
